Hello. 17th August and number 229 in the ongoing 365 image mega series.
Taken tonight at home.
This image is a small tribute to a big man with a big heart and an even bigger character who passed away suddenly on 4th August 2011. Today was his funeral. He was a devoted husband and father, a man who loved his mum and dad and his big brother unconditionally and a great man of God who worked tirelessly for his family and his church. The title of this image was one of his favourite things to say, especially when things didn’t quite go to plan! He will be sadly missed until the day we meet again, not just by his family, but by the many, many people whose lives he has touched – me included. God has taken you home, Matt. See you there.
This is the video that was played at Matt’s life celebration, and believe me, it was a life worth celebrating.
The image of the cross was converted to black and white, given levels and contrast adjustment and a high pass filter layer at five pixels. It was then placed onto the texture layer, blended with hard light and partially erased.
