Hello. 11th August and number 223 in the ongoing 365 image mega series.

Taken tonight at home, my daughter holding a nectarine stone. She said it looked like a brain…how does she know what a brain looks like!? She’s only four!!!

Black and white conversion with levels and contrast adjustment. Some dodging to lighten shadows in and around the eye. Added to texture and blended with hard light and partially erased at varying opacities.

Canon EOS 20D / Canon USM 28mm-105mm lens.

I’ve been taking photographs since 1997 and I still love it. After a brief dislike of photomanipulation I now use Photoshop extensively on a majority of my work. People are my favourite subject and I’m always on the look out for new models, so drop me a line if you’re interested! :)

you’re daughter is awesome, she must love daddy taking pictures of her

  • Thank you, Heather. :)
She does. In fact, she complained because I wasn’t using her for my picture to start with. She insisted.

Cool picture, i kind of like the way the bottom lip is faded out makes her look more like she is part of the stone

  • Thanks, Bart. Glad it worked. :)

Terrific work, James – sometime children know more than we think they do :)
