wow, i just checked out some of Jeffrey Smart’s work, and you’re spot on. i found this pic called “cahill expressway”https://apps.ngv.vic.gov.au/shop/headers/148/display on the NGV site and can definitely see a resemblence.
i’m pretty sure i saw some of his work at the modern art gallery in sydney. i liked his style. will have to investigate more into his work.
