The Light
This is voice of reason and logic that whispers to your insanity, when flames surround the eyes of the destructor, she is the gentle hand who calms the beast, she is all you lack, the balance to the demon, if she were not, there would not be you…

in clouded thought,
the stabilizer of red,
when the bull goes blind,
and contorts.
The twisted churning,
brutal fist that smashes pain.
She reminds me I am human,
when emotion surrounds like flame.
She is the voice,
to simmer the demon,
the reason to drop the blade,
as all around me kneel in prey,
I take shelter in her shade.
Her soft voice of angelic whispers,
invades these eyes,
of a soul thought lost,
caressing this beast,
and melting thorns,
in releasing demons,
she knows the cost.
She holds these wings,
now featherless and torn,
she kisses this heart,
shattered,
cracked and worn.
All this damage,
she sheds a tear,
if I could only see,
I would share her nearing fear.
She is the God,
who tames my eyes.
She is my God,
who cares and cries.
She is the hand on my shoulder,
when others turn their back.
The only light,
that shines through hell.
She is the light,
I miss and lack,
She is my God…
She is my God.

Such an emotive piece! I was intrigued by the excerpt because it mentioned ‘God’ as a ‘she’... I was not sure what the piece was going to be about but now it makes perfect sense and you make a very powerful statement about how strength and salvation is found in different for different people… Really, really good :)
