This photo is a close up of a Yellow Tulip before it has opened in it’s natural state of leaning over. I added a beautiful, colorful background and had lighting from behind. The settings are as follows: Canon Rebel EOS T1i camera with a 18-55 mm zoom lens setting on a tripod. Fstop is 5.6, shutter speed is 1/8, ISO 400 and 50mm zoom. Manual setting is used with faithful. I hope you enjoy! -Sherry

Gorgeous! Love the background and the tulip is lovely. If you cut them and put them in a vase, someone told me to put a penny in the water so that they won’t lean. It worked for me… but leaning over is pretty too. Congrats for being in the Top 10.

  • thank you for your very nice comments! I was with my friend when I read your penny idea so we talked about it. does the penny have to be copper? thanks again, -Sherry

Hi Sherry! I think the penny should be copper but I’m not sure. I presumed it was the copper that did it. As soon as I heard about it I tried it and the tulips stood straight the whole time they were in a vase which is never the case. Try it and let me know if it works for you. Love your yellow tulip!
