I have this dream, a nightmare you could say.
I Have it every night, it’s never gone away.
A strange white rabbit in a waist coat and tie, he seems to know my name!
With pocket-watch in paw, he dashes away, surely this is not a game.
And here it comes, the worst part of all.
When I plunge down a small rabbit hole.
I fall for hours, DAYS it seems!
Whilst up above the night is as black as coal.
I crash onto the ceiling and soon drop to the ground,
softly bumping my head.
I look around and what do I find? A strange cake with icing words-
“Eat me.” Was all it said
I take a small nibble and outgrow the whole room. Oh what am I to do?
I drink the elixer right next to the cake and I shrink to the size of a shoe.
A small silver key catches my eye and I unlock the only door I can find.
When I open the door it is Wonderland I face.
Have I lost my already broken mind?
I make new friends and foes, and adventures arise as I fight to protect my fate.
But despite all the victories, the battles I’ve won.
To the White Rabbit I’ll always be “late”.
So night after night as I enter my dreams, I replay this from beginning till’ end.
People say I’m bonkers, but my reply to them is that my mind has nothing to mend!
I’ll still have my friends in Wonderland, even if my mind has set sail.
All I shall do is close my eyes and I’m there in two shakes of a White Rabbit’s tail.
Another take on Alice and her wonderful Wonderland. :)
