Meditation is a wonderful thing. To calm and clear one’s mind of clatter and babble, idiotic desires and negativity is simply exquisite. But it is also the nature of ‘mind’ to have thoughts. Thoughts are akin to ripples created on a still lake when the wind blows upon it. Once one is able to abide in mindfulness and observe mind, one sees when ones’ thoughts are appearing, how they appear and their nature. We can choose our thoughts with practice. We can allow anger, negativity fear etc to rattle around and create disharmony or we can choose to welcome in thoughts of peace, happiness, and positivity like a peaceful invasion that settles the unrest and allows peacefulness to pervade.
