This is my final photographic translation of

Masquerade
by Jay Taylor

I used the dodge tool on this to bring out some of the many dimensions of the broken glass and to highlight what visions I thought were inspiring. Where I used the head of a small hammer to break the glass, I see a cross. There are also hearts, and faces that can be seen if you look beyond the broken glass.

Thank you, Jay for this opportunity, that I thoroughly enjoyed, despite the bumps in the road.;)

The spirit in me welcomes the spirit in you, and I thank you for viewing my art. I have been blessed with a disease that has allowed me to learn, to grow, and to return to my passion of photography and digital art. Being permanently disabled with MSA at the age of 50 was a gift in disguise, because through the pain, my senses have all been heightened. The world through my eyes is what I hope to share with you, along with my deep love, faith, and hope through my art. Thank you from my heart.

Very cool translation, Cynthia – I really did wonder where on earth a photographic translation of ‘Masquerade’ might take you, and this is inspired, really – very clever and innovative :o) I see your cross there, and it really does echo the ‘flower’ type shape in my painting quite eerily! And the hearts and hints of faces – amazing how the glass reacted to its interaction with you…bravo, I say :o)

  • Yes, quite eerily indeed! I am so pleased that you like it. I was truly inspired by your work and your words about it. Thank you for commenting, and thank you for the honor of this translation of your work. This was my first translation and will be quite memorable for me. I was to afraid to try. Your art and words helped me to overcome my fear. xoxo
