Artist's Description

After decades of drought the water on this planet was revered as sacred as it could only be found in a very few regions.

To protect the supply – huge fortresses were constructed to watch over the rivers. Massive dams were built to control the flow and enable a fair system of rationing to the worlds’ population – life was very hard, many died and much of the land became desert.

Then one day the rains returned and water was available in abundance again. The world flourished and grew green and beautiful once more.

As a reminder of the dreadful dry days the ancient Waterfall Fortress has been preserved for all to see – many come here to gaze into the Pool of Remembrance and vow never to take even Natures’ simplest gift of water for granted.
