Crocodile Tears
Recently there’s been a spate of crocodile attacks here in Australia.
Just last weekend, 11 year old Birony Goodsell was dragged underwater by one and never resurfaced.
If feel deeply sorry for her and even worse for her family but for crying out loud, she was swiming in our most dangerous state, in a place called Black Jungle Swamp.
That’s just asking for it.
So now authorities are setting traps to catch and kill these so called ‘menacing’ crocodiles.
Fair enough but I think it’s important for all of us to remember that we don’t own this planet. We share it with millions of other species and we have to learn and teach our children to respect them and their rights.
I’m doing this art to present the lighter side of these primordial creatures and point out that they aren’t menacing. They’re just hungry.

Thanks so much Naf4d. They look good all stacked up don’t they?
And yes I reckon kids would go wild for ‘em too.
Thanks for popping in.

these are excellent Spike….may I ask how they are done?
Spikerama replied
They are just the basic line work which is vectorised then I block fill with colour in photoshop and then put a background colour plate in which seemed to suit each one.
Thanks for asking. I’m looking at yours now hee!

so drawn on paper? or on graphics tablet? vectorised in which program? I’ve just been doing plain old drawings and scanning and colouring in PS…about to get CS4 but have never done vectors or used illustrator….maybe now is the time to try!
Spikerama replied
Illustrator is the go. It’s the best way to creat vector art work. And the files are surprisingly small because it works off scaled paths.
Let me know when you have a go.
