So few of my pen and ink illustrations from the pre-computer days remain in my personal collection. Part of my problem with creating art is that I never have the chance to amass pieces, and I’ve been neglectful of what pieces I do have.
This is a pen and ink rendering of an ant species (I think perhaps Acanthomyrmex) done specimen-style.

This piece is also available as a print or card here

I hope that you will also take the time to review my other insect art here

“Pete Janes entertains the macro insect crowd with meticulous gouache and watercolor specimen pieces, while his more imaginary illustrations seem to be glimpses into faraway realities.”—noted art critic and Portland bum R. Terialspray

    Lovely!
Re: the art archive, I’ve been trying to get a good scan of everything before it leaves my hands, but I know that this year’s “plenty of resolution” will be next year’s “I can’t do anything with this!”…. oh well!

  • Thanks Stephanie. I can always improve my own archiving techniques, but so many works are gone, although I take some small consolation in hoping that they are out there somewhere, still tickling somebody’s brain.
