Black and White, Dixon Ticonderoga #2 pencil and Pigma Micron technical pens on 100lb sketchbook paper.
A portrait of three young gentlemen from out of my subconscious. As happens often during random sketching, a few lines began to “speak” to me. Just an hour or so later, these three beings had emerged from the pencil noise on the page. A couple of hours after that and their portrait was finished. A crab-whale in a shoddy trenchcoat and garlic hat, a noseless DJ in a hoodie, and a dinosaur with Jeri-Kurl and knit hat with ironic pompom.

I hope you will take a moment to review my other anthropomorphic work here.
While you’re at it, you may want to take a look at my pencil work here.

they are well done, and birthed by you too- thats creative art at its purest

  • Thanks mad. I know that my imaginations is merely a distillation of my knowledge and experience, but I like to think that there are variables which make it unique.

I’d swear I’d seen these guys walking around my home town :) You have a great imagination. I do hope there are more where this came from.

  • Plenty more! In recent years previous to joining RB, most of my work took a turn away from the fantastic, but I’m finding quite an audience here for the crazier stuff. I’m really happiest with pencil or pen in hand. Thanks Dave!

Great stuff…I see you are a true doodler and executor of the unconcious mind…rock on!!

  • Thanks Jewd. The huge endorphin rush from actually pulling an articulate image from scribbles is also a great motivator!
