“FMRL NME” refers to Death, the untouchable, irreducible, inevitable nemesis of life, which appears unbidden, does its work, and vanishes.

I’ve been playing around with this phonetic for years. Recently, while hiking in the Coast Range here in Oregon, I came across a bleached bird skull (most likely a Steller’s Bluejay) and the images I took matched up with the phrase perfectly.
