Model Cary in a candid moment during a shoot at Riverview Cemetery in SW Portland, Oregon. Riverview is an epic cemetery perched amid old growth trees on a high bank above the Willamette River, and includes the graves of such luminaries as Virgil Earp, beer magnate Henry Weinhard, and Carl Mays, the only Major League Baseball player to ever cause a fatality during a game.
I was inspired to throw some Aperture effects on the image by the pollen, flower petals and seeds being blown around, and I thought both the subject matter and Cary’s look that day would look great as a scratchy old vignette.

I say, Cary…. Puts the icing on this slightly macabre cake. And Carl Mays! A name from the past, to be sure. Excellent work, Pete.
