I’m a photographer based in Melbourne, Australia.
I studied in a darkroom, but I shoot digital. I use a Fujifilm X20, a Samsung phone and Photoshop, but when it comes down to it, only the eye is important.
I like to think of my images as single frames from a movie.
I think Henri Cartier Bresson said it most succinctly:
“Photography cannot be forced, it either happens or it doesn’t. You see the image all at once, like a painting, as the elements come together, you either get it or you don’t. To me, it’s the possibility to capture in a fraction of a second, the emotion of a subject, the beauty of form, the lines, the natural geometry.
I don’t have a message. You see. You feel. You respond." – HCB, 2003
