Having visited the Normandy and Somme regions of France and the Ypres area of Belgium over the past 18 months I felt humbled not only the stories that I read at the many museums dedicated to World War I and World War II but also by the vast number of graves and graveyards that can be found in the area. It makes you realise just how many lives were sacrificed to the fallacy that war can end war.
On my return to the UK, I discovered a wonderful memorial arboretum site near Alrewas, Staffordshire, and again was moved by the number of monuments and memorials to the brave individuals that had laid down their own lives for those of others.
My shirt design Remembrance Day 2007 will help raise money to provide social and emotional support to millions who have served or who are currently serving in the British Armed Forces, and their dependants.
