Cleveland – Even during rush hour as vehicles transverse the wide avenues, beauty is to be admired in the towering office complexes. Looking up Euclid toward Public Square, one can not help but be inspired by the grand view. The PNC Bank Center sits at the corner of prominent Euclid Avenue and East 9th Street. The 410 foot building was erected in 1980 as the formerly world recognized and invested in National City Bank. PNC bought NCB in 2008 with TARP funds.
Though many Clevelanders felt slighted by such a shady misleading deal, PNC has at least for now continued to endorse former National City projects and donations. At present these include Playhouse Square Center, The Cleveland Playhouse, Cleveland Cavaliers, Grow Up Great project, numerous Cuyahoga County charities and much more.
