Cleveland – The Comeback City slowly, but surely brushes away the sleeping dust from its eyes and greets another wonderful Northeast Ohio day. Traveling along Interstate 71 which will merge into the Cleveland Interbelt along I 90 in another few miles, gives one a spectacular view of the towering edifices that start to shine in the brilliant Ohio sun.
Recently, work has begun in earnest on the new, much more efficient Cleveland Interbelt Bridge project. Slated to open in 2013 and 2015 respectfully, (as the project actually encompasses two different bridge decks, one eastbound and one westbound), the bridge symbolizes Cleveland’s as always forward thinking strategies toward city design and aesthetics.
Eventually (within two years from now), the old bridge will be dismantled and forever become a Cleveland icon of the past and in its place will rise two handsomely tailored modern road decks.
