Numb
more of my poetry… finding something sweet to hold onto when your whole world feels numb
The feeling has set in; the numbness takes a toll
The words from your lips, so permanent; tattoo my soul.
My heart has been broken more times then none;
A meaningless object others bruised and shattered for fun.
Oh fearless knight, please be gentle with me, for you see
I give my love with my heart on my sleeve.
Will you mistreat me, will you leave me, will you beat me with time?
Or will you love me, need me and lead me to find
A trail of true feelings, so gentle, so kind?
Say you’ll stay; that you’ll forever be mine.
Say you’ll respect me; respect me with time.
Please tell me for I am mistaken
This isn’t how I dreamt it to be.
How could something this sweet, be considered reality?
