This really appeals to me, Soxy – the colours, the composition, the intertwining of nature and man… I like it a lot!!

  • thank you Mieke and so lovely to see you…somewhere I did see your youtube recently…it was difficult to photograph and the colours are still a little wrong, not too bad though. I am pleased with this composition. The colours have gone through many changes and are a little even for me…but I like this series that seems to be happening. It’s all very interesting to do!

You might want to fix the “Unsafe” mode….

Colors much richer and deeper : the headress is like a shaman mask; very in tune with nature, yes.

  • yes the unsafe mode was a slip of the finger…don’t know how that happened! she looks rather naive don’t you think?

We’ve all hit “unsafe” at one time or another!
She doesn’t naive, exactly; purposeful or determined, perhaps : but the naive are like that!
She was born a Leo, and they can be bold and naive in their search for right and justice. ;)

Wow – this is wonderful. She has a determined, yet resigned expression (can I say that even though there is no mouth or eyes visible?) it’s going to be a tough battle for her, but she has the strength to be the victor. Wonderful, totally wonderful!

  • thank you for the enthusiasm! I’m not so sure though, I think she has a lot to learn!!

    Love it Sox!

  • thanks Bec…I watched your video…I’d jinx myself if I did that! I’m sure if I tried to video my painting process I’d end up with a mess!

wonderful work Soxy, I just had a look at the front of your portfolio and I see a very definite style coming through, I think it’s great :) x

  • thanks Karin…there does seem to be a style. I’m not really loving this one though (might try to give it away!) it probably looks better here than in real life…the surface is very bumpy

I was just looking through my faves again and stopped by once more to say how much I love this!!!!

  • i do so wish i could send it to you! i’ve been considering advertising it “free to good home”. it doesn’t show much here but it has a very corrugated surface…and, while there are things about it i like it’s not my personal favourite…it’s also pretty big. wonder how much it would cost to post it to you?
