I started my DisCo project bundle 9 months ago and today I brought it in and pulled it apart.
It is still a bit damp and yes spiders came out to greet me….lots of mould and rusty staples but altogether some interesting patterns and textures. First up from the project I have created some photographic images. When all the paper has dried out I may collage and varnish, though everything is rather crumbly.

Beautiful work! You are inspiring me to do another bundle!

  • thanks for all your visits and comments – I have a lot of bits left which I can use but I would like the fungus to subside a bit first! it was an interesting exercise with different results to expected – I wasn’t expecting the pages to stick together as much as they did and some of the fabric has hardly weathered at all

This weathered things collection is terrific!

  • thank you….I still have a big box of the bits sitting in a spot in my house where it looks like I’m collecting rubbish….but I never explain it to visitors!

    Great colours in your mix.

  • thanks kerry, as you can see they were pretty damaged. I’ve used most of it that I can now, anything left is pretty crumbly. I want to start another bundle but this time I think I will use various pieces of art paper (which survived better but still gained something from the weathering) The book I used became very fragile and the pages stuck together…this meant that when I tried to collage them it didn’t really work until I pealed them all apart.
some pieces of fabric I included in the bundle are just about like new…a piece of green silk and a dark pink piece of a mohair fabric.
