This is a higher res image of the previous one.

I exposed a piece of photographic paper in this camera

then I developed this paper negative in solution of instant coffee and washing soda. Scanned, inverted and adjusted in photoshop

Cool hardware, great technique. You’re a good thinker

  • the hardware is stunning…zeiss ikon…forget the year just now but it is very old. I’ll be doing more with this machine, it folds up into a lovely solid compact unit.
thanks for the comment and visit

If I had it I’d break it just from folding and unfolding it. I love the way they’re made. And that when retracted they’re solid enough to beat something to death with.

  • this one is in remarkable condition. It does take a bit of nutting out…which bits do what. It even has a self timer. I was at a party before christmas and people were carrying on about their flash digital cameras…I pulled this out of my handbag… and put an end to that!

a really beautiful cyanotype .. love the framing and the tones are wonderful.

  • thank you….it’s not actually cyanotype….the paper negative is slightly sepia and when I invert it in photoshop I get the blue colours…..for me it is part of the process and it feels right to leave it that colour. I really would like to get around to printing up positive images so your adventures with wet plates I find very interesting.
