My main passion as an artist is Modernist architecture, in its original context as a positive utopia for future living, and its current state as overlooked and somewhat failed. Photography, drawing and painting are the media I most often employ and have developed a distinctive personal style over the past few years; it is a casual hobby turned primary creative practice, initially inspired by post-punk/New Wave electronica, developed by a further education on and understanding of Modernist art and design.
I am also driven by an all-consuming passion for popular culture, music, fashion, art, design and subcultures of the mid-to-late 20th century.
My left-wing political leanings and my northern working-class upbringing also have a fair amount of influence on my ideas and practice.
I will be studying BA (Hons) Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London, as of September 2014.
