Stig-Ove Sivertsen lives in northern Norway and has always had above average need to express himself visually.
He is a self thought artist and working mainly with watercolor painting, but are also into drawing, acrylics and photography. The expression varies between the purely figurative to more abstract forms and landscapes.
The paintings are often made in one almost uninterrupted expressive operation, with large amounts of liquid watercolor paint on wet paper – at the mercy of coincidences and happenings in terms of the paper condition and moisture, the pigments characteristics and drying process. Chance is often his best friend and helps the creative flow. Often the painting starts in one place, but “interferences” appear along the way and the image take a direction he never dreamed of.
