London Tourists by david malcolmson

London Tourists

Possibly the strangest photograph I have ever taken. It was late afteroon and I was approaching the entrance to Piccadilly Station when I saw these people gazing at the local sights. I was extremely lucky to have just one frame of film left. The light was getting dim so I shot at full aperture and prayed everything would turn out all right.. Thankfully it did! London, 1967.

Street photography at it’s best. The wonderful thing about B&W film, it almost always comes out, at least an image that you can work on.

Part of a really interesting series of photographs of people from another era. Such a pity that all those other images were lost in a fire.

  • david malcolmson

david malcolmson in reply to TonySlattery’s comment, 2 months ago

Thanks, Tony, for all your kind words about my images. As for black an white I agree with you entirely, and thanks to Photoshop and the like, it is possible to rescue an image that would have otherwise been unprintable.
