Beautiful, simple, elegant image that shows just how little we really need in life..a place to eat, a place to sleep, a place to pray and a place to think, all else is luxury. This is a wonderful B&W which is both a pleasure to view and thought provoking!!
david malcolmson replied
Thank you so much, Jacqueline. How true your words about the simple necessities of life. This was San Miniato: at San Marco in Florence each monk had a Fra Angelico fresco on the wall of his cell, a glimpse of Heaven on earth.

I am constantly being amazed by your photographs. You need to get these images known by everyday people, not only are they beautifull but they are becoming a living record of the place, time and people. (if you are stuck I have some simple ideas)
david malcolmson replied
Palegirl, I am overwhelmed by your praise. It might be a comfort to you that many of these images are in my retrospective exhibition at Newcastle upon Tyne. It ends in December. Is it too far for you to visit, would be glad to meet you. I’d love to learn more about the ‘simple ideas.’
