what if i built a time machine?

what if i built a time machine, a time machine
go back and change my life
erase mistakes, erase mistakes

change the course of history, of history
fix all these troubles
save humanity, save humanity

stop chernobyl from blowing, from blowing
save ferdinand and halt the great war
i could do more, i could do more

wipe out the black spots of the past, of the past
steal the plans for weapons
saving lives, saving lives

but now i realise there is nothing, there is nothing
look in the mirror and see
a spiritless race, an empty face

what if i built a time machine, a time machine
change nothing, leave history
lessons were learnt, lessons were learnt

see life through a fisheye, through a fisheye
focus on the present
and leave the past, leave the past

what if i built a time machine?

Artist's Description

more like a song rather than a poem, its lyrical……its alright, not my best i must admit.

i wrote it while listening to “A Mirror Without” by Royal Wood so it sounds a bit like that – same sort of beat i guess, and structure but my own thoughts and words
