This was taken along the shores of Lake Superior as the sun was rising. It is about 1 hour north of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. It had been a rainy stormy night in the Sault. I got up early. For early October it was cold with the temperature hovering around the freezing mark. As I approached this location I saw that the waves were still quite large. The sun was beginnig to rise behind me and cast a nice orange light which was diffused by the wispy quick moving clouds. This was taken with a tripod and a slow shutter speed (1/4 second). As I headed north of here I ran into a blizzard and had to turn back.

Camera: Canon 30d

Hi Sooboy – lovely capture – is it wide angle?? Polly :)

  • Hi Polly, thanks for the comment. This was one of the first photos I posted so I didn’t provide details. I’ve gone back and added them thanks to your comment. It is not wide angle. I had to zoom in a bit to give the rocks more significance, Eros.
