Fantastic. I love the added dimension of using eyes you know and love…. His expression/roar is incredible. The intent is palpable. Great job methinks. :)

Oh definitely surreal fun for me. I laughed aloud when I saw it. This is great! I’m glad that you used your own husband….LOL!

  • Songmistress replied 13 days ago

He really inspired the piece…he picked up the mask and struck that pose, and I told him to hold it while I grabbed the camera…he nearly got lockjaw, LOL. Thank you so much for the fave, Ursula! :)

I think there is much can be taken from this creation, to me it speaks of anger and abuseive relationships, kind of like he’s taking and crushing the one in his hand….definitely a reflective piece…Well done!

  • Songmistress replied 10 days ago

Wow, thank you so much for your comment, Anaisnais. I appreciate hearing your take on it, because I honestly never thought of that before with this piece. But, now that I look at it again, I know the reason I didn’t see that in it is because I used my husband Jamie – and he is such a wonderful husband. But, once upon a time I was in such a emotionally abusive relationship, that it was like the life was being crushed out of me – all my self esteem being eroded away and destroyed… when I look at this through the light of your observant comment, I can see exactly what you are talking about. Thanks again for stopping by!

Thank you. I appreciate it. It’s nice to take a break on occasion and get through my old stuff and share it. I did a portrait set last night with Lynn but they probably won’t be shared here because they were nudes and I’m not sure she is that fond of having herself exposed like that. Maybe if I do some clever cropping she will be okay with it. It was a very sensuous and moody set so I think most people would love it. Of course, there is the added bonus of a naked woman.

  • Songmistress replied 9 days ago

Oh yes…sensuous, moody and naked is always good in my opinion. And, she’s a lovely girl, she should flaunt it!

I agree 100% :) Hopefully I can talk her into it. I did post up an outtake of Mellisa the other day which I now am loving. And I have another coming soon from that same set which after I gave the same treatment as this one, it turned out ridiculously sexy. I’ll post that one in a sec.
