The key factor for this work was the aesthetic; the juxtaposition of a heavily detailed character against an empty scene. In effect, it is the metaphor of the complex character in a simple space, and distanced by that complexity, and its mythic nature.
Technically, the work began as an exploration of character detail, and submerging the individual in costume and design, to heighten the sense of the hidden and mysterious, along with the vague sinister appeal of masking the eyes and their intent.
