Taken with a Nikon D800 and Nikkor 24-70mm Lens at sun rise Monument Valley, Arizona, USA.
Hours before leaving Monument Valley we drove out to the viewpoint to try and get a sunrise without rain. We didnt get the rain that morning but we got low cloud and mist instead. After some waiting and getting a few shots of mist swirling in the predawn light around the Mittens and Merrick Butte the sun started to peak through making the low mist and clouds glow and casting long shadows and sun beams. Not your traditional Monument Valley at sunrise shot but it sure was a great sight to behold.

Below are more shots from the Arizona trip. As you can see from the titles the weather wasnt ideal. So I didnt get some of the standard shots of the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley at Sunset and Sunrise but I did get some quite different shots :-)
I will be adding new shots from the trip daily in the coming weeks.
