Here stands the lonely figure of Atlas on 5th Avenue at midnight… Traffic blurs past and tourists buzz around but he stands there resolute and unflinching.

He stands solidly, bronze on his stone pedestal holding up the weight of the world.

Part of the Rockafeller Center in New York City he was placed there when Art Deco was all the style in 1937 to show the gods the power of man in the industrial age.

Science and technology were giving men the power to change the world, anything was possible, a never ending age of prosperity was shortly to arrive.
