Dendroaspis viridis

The eastern green mamba is indigenous to the eastern side of southern Africa but I took this shot behind glass in a zoo for reptiles. Otherwise you would miss the sharpness.

The clarity and detail of the head and eye are incredible – it looks like marble! I love the placement of the snake in the all-green image (especially cool is the way the leaf edges beneath the snake seem to ‘mirror’ the hue of the snake). Great shot in every regard.
