    A really fascinating work…. there is a tension here created by the striped cloth. In one sence we see depth, and yet at the same time we have flat colours and shallow space.

    Thanks Bill, I don’t set out to give my paintings their weird perspective, it just happens. Sometimes I feel as though I’m just standing in front of the easel to hold the brush. The paintings seem to know where they are going even when I don’t.

    It’s a nice process when it happens that way. I had a teacher who said that it is a battle between the painter and the painting, and if you were lucky the painting would win !!!
