I am an artist from Sacramento, CA living in southeast Texas. Painting off and on since the age of 5, I am finally making the time to paint on a regular basis. I have always loved art, music, writing and the theatre, but most of all—art. It comes second only to my faith in terms of time spent thinking about it. Artists see the world differently than others do. It is how they are wired. My perspective has always been askew from the norm. I want my work to evoke emotion in the viewer but I will not resort to shocking or offending people to do it. I liken shocking and offending to a cheap thrill. It is cheap because it is easy. That is not to say that something I paint won’t have that effect; I just don’t start working on a piece with that motive in mind. It is easy to make someone feel disgust or abhorrence. It is much harder to bring about emotions like joy or grief, fear or pride, despondency or elation and so I work toward that end. It is my hope that whatever my art makes you feel…you enjoy it.
