An Impossible Dream

I wish things were simple again.
Back to playing with Barbie, Skipper, and Ken.

Back to thinking life was all about fun,
when I didn’t know life could end with a gun.

Now I wish I could go back to playing jumprope and dress-up
thinking like Peter Pan and never growin’ up.

Life goes by at too fast a pace,
sometimes I feel like a rat in a race.

I’m tired of thinking about college and money,
I want to remember how Pooh bear got his honey.

I’m tired of all the choices and changes,
the responsibility, heartbreaks, and dishonest faces.

I’m sick of hearing about STD’s, pregnant teens, wars, politics and gangs,
I want to go back to a simpler time when life was a game.
