Europa Tall Ship - Halifax, Nova Scotia 2009
The Halifax, Nova Scotia, Tall Ship Festival July 2009 was a spectacular event to attend. We had mixed weather, but ended up with two beautiful days for taking photos of the Tall Ships in Halifax Harbour.

It was a large ship, but not as large as the Russian ship. We spent a day touring the ships onboard. Very fun and interesting. Many of these ships are “Learning” ships. You can take several weeks on board to learn sailing, etc. at different parts of the world. We noticed that it was mostly teenagers that joined as part of the crew. Thank you!

I was a crewmember on that ship when this was taken. She looks great. We normally don’t have that many teenagers on board, but we were sailing to Ireland and the city of Belfast sponsored about two dozen of their youth to cross the ocean on the Europa and others.

That is so awesome, Matt. I most likely saw you if you were on board during the ship viewing. I wished the weather was better for the time we spent admiring the ships. At least we ended up with two beautiful days. Thank you so much for your comment. I hope my photo does justice to the beauty of this ship. :)

Many thanks, Barbara! Tall ships are very beautiful when in full sail. I’ll have to look up BoothBay, ME. I haven’t been past Waterville, ME.
