Anne you wouldn’t know how to get in touch with Pierre Joubert on the Painter site would you? Would love to have him on Rendo and in our group. I sent Stan a note through the forums and he said he was going to join us but that was a few weeks back…

Thanks Anne… Thought so – I tried looking him up in the forum but no joy. He only does about 2 pieces a year…. and always great they are too… must take a while for the virtual oils to dry too!!! :)

“Virtual oils to dry…” Good one, Zoo! I’m finding that a lot of the really good artists on Painter have kind of dropped off. A few of the artists have been a bit jaded with the site.

Agreed… Personally I am not a big fan of Shahin… wouldn’t mind if he painted something else or real people… but I am afraid that his celebrities are a dime a dozen and one gets jaded with that kind of repetition after a while…. Not that his work is by any means bad….

I guess it’s like everywhere else… garnering up popularity…. Only glad I found folk like yourself, Marcelo, Bev, Cynthia and a few more in the ays when I did haunt the place fairly frequently!!!

Pierre is very talented and guys like Lesley and Jens Munk did some great stuff for relative newcomers to Painter!

I was admiring this last night and got interrupted before I could comments. It is absolutely fantastic. I am so impressed that this was digitally painted. Seems very difficult to me. (I also wish I had access to that secret orchard – yummy.)

Thank you! Corel Painter is a bit difficult to work with as it has so many different brushes to work with and variances, but it’s fun to experiment with. Large paintings, such as this one, really made my computer crawl. I had to save often in the event it decided to crash on me. I too wish I had access to the orchard. Perhaps one day our lovely neighbours will show us the way. :)
