Frozen Tears

Frozen Tears
Cold…
Too Cold…
My cracked and bleeding fingers
Are Frozen.
My worn and torn toes
Are Frozen.
My dirty, windblown face
Is Frozen.
My tears…. My tears of pain and misery
Are frozen as well…
Knowing this is My God’s Will…
Knowing I am running out of time…
Knowing it is all worth it…
Knowing I will soon be in his warm, tender arms…
Pushing, Pulling, Pain…
Always moving forward
We push our carts ever forward…
We pull each other along….
Tears, frozen before they
Leave my eyes.
Salty ice crystals
Frozen to my lashes.
Icy tracks freezing
My already frozen face.
Frozen tears

Artist's Description

Written for the Mormon Pioneers as they fled the country in nothing but handcarts in the middle of the freezing winters. Their bravery and refusal to give in has always inspired me. Whether you believe in mormonism or not… You have to admit that their utter refusal to deny their beliefs is rather inspirational! Or, thats how I see it at least..
