Here is another one I just recieved
I won’t mention the name but they say they are having a Juried Show
” There is an exhibit fee of $190.00 for each artwork accepted, payable only upon acceptance of art into the gallery show.”
In the two local art galleries and musuem here they do not charge the artists a cent for showing their work. Juried show or not.
I understand a resonable fee, cause they need money to pay the bills and things but for a $190 ? What am I getting???
Whats its like in your part of the world? Do Art Gallerys charge you to show your work?

Scam! Beware of the people that ask for money to make you money.
Here in the Midwest no gallery will ask an artist for your credit card.
For more info please send $5 to…Von McKnelly PO Box 2008, Small town, Missouri.

My experience so far has been no reply to emails or phone calls. So they haven’t asked for any fees because they won’t communicate at all.

Sorry don’t have any experience with this but sounds very fishy to me. Especially after your other information.

I don’t know about online places either, but our local galleries do charged for juried shows. Not $190 though, it runs around $30 and is depedent on the gallery.

Two are privately owned, the third I think is partially funded by the city.
Randy Monteith, about 1 month ago
The two art gallerys here are funded by the Goverment and the other one the Museum is funded by the city and Gov
