Cracked Snow Gum Bark by John Barratt

Snow Gums can show a wonderful range of bark colours. This particular tree was a lovely red. The patterns in the peeling bark gave the impression a large, clawed animal has been scratching the tree.

Quite a striking color. good comp and exposure. The split bark exposing the white fresh layer underneath creates a wonderful contrast.

I have long been in awe of the beauty that can be found in the bark and trunks of trees, yet despite several attempts have never been happy with my efforts at capturing that beauty. You have achieved where I have failed. Very nice.
