Ghosts of Snow Gums

After the fires of 2003 these snowgums were only just starting to re-grow from the base in May 2004. Things at this altitude, around 1800m don’t grow too quickly, I think it is amazing they were able to regenerate at all.

    This is a wonderful picture. Snowgums make such great subjects! I love the way they can withstand the extremes of summers and winters in their environment, which is at once harsh and beautiful. Much like this image.
