Lifting City Fog

John Barratt

Lifting City Fog

This was taken from the footbridge over the Yarra River at Southbank in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, looking back north east toward Flinders Street train station. The sun was just starting to peek through the mornings thick fog, and appeared as a small, solid white disk through the lifting fog. Part of Melbourne’s skyline was also just beginning to show through.

Hi Devan, the original raw for this shot was quite low in contrast. This version is generally a little darker, but levels have also been adjusted to help bring out the sun, and reflections on the water.
