Blue Mallet Detail
This image is the third in a series of macro shots of a stand of Blue Mallet Eucalyptus trees (Eucalyptus gardneri). These trees have amazingly coloured, and contorted trunks and branches. In particular they can have a striking, shiny gold bark contrasted with a wide range of patterns of a more matte silver and brown. These trees are native to a small part of South West, Western Australia, but have been sold as seedlings for planting across Australia, so can be found in many parts of the country.
