A semi-hyper realistic piece completed for a photography unit at school.
“There’s Still Spirit Here” is a piece that represents life and death, and the fact that death is not always a mournful, somber idea to deal with. The day that I went to the cemetery, there were so many other dogs to my own (he’s pictured), someone was filming in another section, and there was a party around a gravestone for someone’s late relative. They were happy, they were alive, they were sharing a space that was warm. It’s about the spirit of the land. It’s about the people that were laid to rest there. I’m sure they wouldn’t have been angry at us – in fact, I think they would have welcomed our visit.
