Rub a Dub Dub
Three men in a tub
and who do you think they be?
The Butcher, the Baker, the Candlestick Maker
Turn them out, knaves all three
The original version of this nursery rhyme had instead of three men, three maids in the tub at a country fair, with the men watching them. It was changed in 1825 to be three men in the tub… apparently men having a bit of a go finding the soap was less offensive than men having an ogle at some wenchy T&A
This nursery rhyme first appeared in a publication called Christmas Box that appeared in London in 1798.
