Happy Halloween!
Well it’s that time of year again already.
Yep time to carve pumpkins.
What fun!!!!!!!!
Ellen’s skills with a knife have definitely improved!
Her pumpkin (Moonphase Kitty) is the one on the left.
She did the carving almost all by herself.
I helped a little with the kitty cat
but other then that it was all her.
I decided to call mine jack.
I don’t know I think he looks like a jack.
Cant tell but one of his teeth fell out so I had to give him a crown lol.
Ellen was totally intrigued by Jack’s dental operation.
By the way, do you know why they call them Jack-O-Lanterns?
Well…... leave it to the Celts. They never fail.
It comes from an old Irish myth about a man nicknamed “Stingy Jack”.. who one night played a trick on the Devil. Years later when Jack died.. it seems he couldn’t get into Heaven or Hell. Instead.. legend goes.. the Devil sent Jack off into the dark night with only a burning coal to light his way. Jack supposedly put the coal into a carved-out turnip and has been roaming the Earth ever since. The Irish began referring to this frightening figure as “Jack of the Lantern”
I guess some candles….. don’t light the way after all.
So…..... be careful.
