Cider Squeeze
I’ve been having a bad habit lately of forgetting my wallet lol
Last Saturday my daughter Ellen and I went down to Meeker Mansion
to do a photo shoot and catch the Cider Squeeze.
And what do you know, we got all the way down there
and I realized that I had forgot my wallet. DARN!!!!!
Well just so it wasn’t a totally waisted trip
we decided to check it out anyway.
Theye’re yard was so packed full of merry people making cider
that I think we would have had all the fun we needed just watching them.
People noticed we weren’t doing much even though Ellen was all dressed up
in her new renaissance style dress.
Someone asked us if we just came from the renaissance festival.
So I explained my situation, that we came down to do a photo shoot
and catch the Cider Squeeze, but that I had forgot my wallet.
She said you guys should go in and explain your situation to them.
Kids are actually free today
and they will probably let you pay them back or something.
And they did exactly that.
Oh just pay us next time ha ha.
It’s not like we are going to go broke over four dollars.
They were so nice! So we took the tour and then we took some pictures.
Beautiful old house! Full of history,. Very interesting.
Then we walked around out front and before I knew it
Ellen had made a friend and was helping her squeeze apples.
They must have had at lest fifteen or twetny
of these old fashioned Cider Presses out front.
They had lots of fiddlers in the center of the yard
and a bunch of little art and craft stands around the perimeter.
They also had a bungee pumpkin throwing contest.
A little boy was trying to teach Ellen how to sling pumpkins
at some scare crows and knock them over
with this giant sling shot contraption that they made.
I had one dollar, and Ellen put allot of thought into what she would buy with it.
She decided on two candy bracelets and a pumpkin.
Wow! Smart shopper!
We really had a great time!
I would highly recommend Meeker Mansion to anyone
who would like to go have fun for an afternoon.
I know we’re going back!

What a fun day! goes to show you dont need a lot of money to have fun. I always enjoy the narrative. I enjoy the writing as much as your pics.
