SAD - Seasonal Adjustment Disorder

this is so true

in winter, i’m blue

in spring i’m waiting

for summer ‘now few’

in autumn i’m wishing away

the cold dark wet nights

and tapping the keyboard

while viewing the highlights

perhaps a new tv

or a shopping spree

will bring back the feeling

of joy onto me

or not

maybe a walk

or a trip to the med

will help this damned feeling

that resides in my head

anxiety, depression stress and all

give me back summer

so that I may stand tall

and revel in it all

I once lived in Montana where in the winter it gets dark by 4:00 pm and as cold as 35 below zero degrees for weeks at a time. Your describing what we use to call “cabin fever” and yes it does get a little depressing. Another good piece of writing SD! p.s. I now live in Sunny Southern California!!! :-)

  • lol … i thought California was a lovely place Keith (ive never been … just what I see on TV). I think im shaking it off … going to go to the cafe for a bite of lunch and take a few more pics on the way home … that should do it !!!
