i dream of you
in the distant night
lying there in your slumber
while dreaming of your prince out yonder
whats he like
i see his smile
in his castle
on that emerald isle
is he sweet as i perceive
or is he just make believe
in my heart i love him so
his wit, his charm, his scent, his soul
then i awake to find im dreaming
of the girl who gives life meaning
that soul far away across the sea
who i know longs to be with me
i shake myself, eyes open wide
my heart beats fast
my dream subsides
i think of her all day long
shes in my thoughts and in my song
that princess
the one to whom i belong
that distant soul
that i adore so much
that i yearn to reach out and touch
to feel her warmth close against my face
to hold so close in a love embrace

Mushy & romantic yes but there is a twist in it that isnt expected!
I started thinking lover separated from beloved and then this idea of a father watching little daughter sleeping – her story book open on her tummy dreaming of her prince … then you go and twist it into you are the prince dreaming of your princess dreaming of you!
